Acer Googlebook 14: $899 Price, 3K OLED, Gemini AI and Full Specs

The Acer Googlebook 14 (GP714-91N) is a 14-inch convertible built around Google’s new Googlebook OS and Gemini Intelligence, with a 3K OLED touchscreen, Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors, up to 32GB of memory and a starting U.S. price of $899.

Why this is more than an expensive Chromebook
The hardware is the first clue. Acer is using an aluminum-magnesium chassis, a 360-degree hinge and a 14-inch OLED panel with a 2880×1800 resolution. The display supports touch and USI 2.0 styluses, while Acer lists 500-nit brightness, 100% DCI-P3 coverage and VESA DisplayHDR True Black certification. At 1.14kg and 13.9mm thick, it is positioned as a premium convertible rather than a low-cost web notebook.
The platform distinction matters even more. Google says Googlebook combines an Android technology stack with desktop foundations from ChromeOS. That is intended to make Android apps and phone-to-laptop continuity feel native rather than bolted on. Gemini Intelligence is built into the workflow
Googlebook’s pitch is not simply “a laptop with an AI chatbot.” Google and Acer describe Gemini as part of the desktop interaction model. Magic Pointer can surface Gemini around content under the cursor. Continue On is designed to resume supported tasks from an Android phone. Cast My Apps can make supported phone apps accessible from the laptop without installing them locally, while proactive suggestions use on-screen context to propose actions.
That integration is potentially more consequential than raw benchmark numbers. If it works consistently, Googlebook could reduce the friction between phone, browser, Android apps and desktop tasks. But buyers should separate launch demonstrations from proven everyday reliability. Intel Core Ultra Series 3 and up to 50 TOPS
Acer lists Core Ultra 5 325 and Core Ultra 7 355 configurations. The higher-end processor includes an NPU rated by Acer at up to 50 TOPS. That figure is useful for understanding the class of on-device AI hardware, but TOPS alone does not tell you how fast a real Gemini workflow will feel. Model size, memory bandwidth, software optimization and whether a task runs locally or in the cloud all matter.
Memory scales to 32GB LPDDR5X, but storage tops out at 512GB in Acer’s launch specification. That storage ceiling is worth noting for creators and developers who keep large local project libraries. On the other hand, the included 12-month Google AI Pro offer comes with 5TB of cloud storage for eligible users, subject to Google’s offer terms and regional eligibility.
The 3K OLED display may be the strongest hardware argument
The 14-inch 16:10 OLED is unusually ambitious for a machine starting at $899. Its 2880×1800 resolution gives it a dense workspace, while the 360-degree hinge allows laptop, tent, stand and tablet modes. Gorilla Glass covers the touchscreen, and Acer says the panel reaches 500 nits and covers 100% of DCI-P3.
That combination makes the machine interesting for photo work, media consumption and presentation-heavy workflows. It does not automatically make it a professional color-reference display; independent calibration and uniformity testing would be needed before making that claim.
Battery, ports and connectivity
The 71Wh battery is substantial for a 1.14kg convertible. Acer rates it for up to 16 hours of web browsing and 14 hours of local video playback, and says fast charging can restore 50% in 30 minutes or 80% in an hour. Those are manufacturer test claims, not Digital Pulse Brief test results, and real endurance will depend on brightness, workload, wireless activity and AI usage.
Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0. There are three USB-C ports in total: one Thunderbolt 4 port and two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports, plus a 3.5mm audio jack. The webcam is 5MP with noise reduction and a physical privacy shutter, and the power button includes a fingerprint reader. Acer also lists a Google Titan-C security chip.
Acer Googlebook 14 price and release window
Acer says the GP714-91N will arrive in North America in October 2026 starting at $899, with EMEA pricing starting at €1,199. Australia is scheduled for November with a starting price of A$2,599. Exact configurations and retail prices vary by region. Acer’s U.S. store currently lists a Core Ultra 5 325 / 16GB / 512GB configuration at $899.99, with availability beginning in early October.
Who should consider it?
The Googlebook 14 makes the most sense for someone already committed to Android and Google services who wants premium laptop hardware without giving up phone-centric workflows. The 360-degree OLED design also gives it a clearer hardware identity than a conventional clamshell.
There are still reasons to wait. Googlebook OS is a new platform category, so app compatibility, peripheral support, enterprise management and the long-term behavior of Gemini-first features deserve real-world scrutiny. Windows and macOS also have deeper histories with specialist desktop software. Buyers whose workflow depends on a specific professional application should verify support before ordering.
Digital Pulse Brief assessment
Acer has avoided the obvious mistake of launching Google’s new platform on bargain hardware. The Googlebook 14 has the display, weight, connectivity and memory options expected from a premium 2026 ultraportable. The more difficult test will be software: Googlebook has to make Android continuity and Gemini assistance valuable enough that buyers stop thinking of it as “a Chromebook that costs $899.”
Until independent testing is possible, the sensible conclusion is narrower: the Acer Googlebook 14 is one of the most technically interesting first-generation Googlebooks, but its value will depend as much on Googlebook OS maturity as on Acer’s hardware.
