Digital Pulse Brief / Your privacy
Cookie Policy.
You should be able to read a tech guide without wondering what is happening behind the page. Here is how cookies and similar technologies may be used on Digital Pulse Brief, and where you can make choices about them.

The essentials, without the jargon.
Cookies are small pieces of data saved by your browser. Websites may also use local storage, pixels and other technologies. They can remember a choice, support site functions or help services measure activity.
Some storage is necessary
Basic site operation, security and saving cookie preferences may rely on essential technologies.
Other uses are optional
Analytics and advertising technologies are different from essential site functions and may require your consent.
There are ways to choose
Use the available consent controls, your browser settings and the external providers’ privacy tools.
01 / Understanding cookies
What are cookies, and why do websites use them?
A cookie is a small text record a website or another service can ask your browser to store. It may remember that you have already made a choice, help keep a website secure or tell a service that a browser has returned. Cookies are not the only way information can be stored or accessed; local storage and similar technologies can serve related purposes.
First-party cookies are associated with the website you are visiting. Third-party cookies come from other domains involved in the page, such as advertising providers. Which technologies are available can vary by browser, device, page and your settings.
02 / What they are for
Different purposes, different choices.
| Category | How it may be used |
|---|---|
| Necessary and functional | Website security, core WordPress functions, remembering consent choices and operating the services you request. |
| Preferences | Remembering eligible settings or choices that make the experience more convenient. |
| Statistics and analytics | Understanding how visitors use pages, which guides are useful and where site performance needs attention. |
| Advertising and marketing | Displaying or measuring ads, limiting repeated ads and—where permitted—personalizing advertising. |
These are descriptions of possible purposes, not a claim that every category sets a cookie on every visit. A category that needs consent should not be treated as essential simply because a provider offers it.
03 / Services we use
What may be involved when you visit.
WordPress and consent management
Digital Pulse Brief runs on WordPress and uses Complianz for cookie notices and preferences. Necessary site and consent-related storage may help the website work and remember your selection.
Google Analytics
We use Google Site Kit to connect website measurement services, including Google Analytics. Analytics can help us see broad patterns such as visits and page use. The way measurement operates depends on consent settings and the technologies loaded for your visit.
Google advertising
The website has Google advertising-related code configured. Advertising technology may use cookies or comparable identifiers when an ad tag is loaded, even on a visit where no visible ad appears. This does not mean that personalized ads are served to every visitor or that the website has already been approved for AdSense.
Newsletter and contact services
MailPoet manages newsletter subscriptions and may process email interactions, including opens or link clicks when tracking is enabled. Those functions should be distinguished from the cookies needed simply to read a page. Sending us a contact message does not sign you up for the newsletter. Read our Privacy Policy for information about messages and subscriptions.
Hosting and website delivery
Hosting, security and performance services may process technical request information when a page is loaded. Not all such processing relies on browser cookies. External services may update the technologies they use over time.
04 / Advertising disclosures
Google, advertising cookies and opt-outs.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve advertising based on visits to this or other websites. Google’s advertising cookies may allow Google and its partners to serve ads based on visits to Digital Pulse Brief and other sites on the internet. Where other advertising vendors or networks are enabled, their technologies and privacy options may also apply.
You can manage Google ad personalization through Google My Ad Center. You can also learn more in Google’s advertising technology information or explore opt-outs offered by participating companies at YourAdChoices. These controls are separate from the cookie preferences on this website. Our Advertising & Affiliate Disclosure explains our commercial-content approach.
Important distinction: turning off personalized advertising does not necessarily stop all advertising or all advertising-related storage. The applicable consent and privacy choices still matter.
05 / Your controls
How can you manage or withdraw cookie consent?
Where a cookie consent banner is presented, use its available options to accept, reject or adjust optional categories. You may also revisit the consent settings through the controls provided by Complianz. Rejecting optional tracking should not prevent you from reading our public guides.
Manage cookie preferences
Use the controls below if they are available for your region and browser:
If no controls appear, you can still adjust cookie permissions or delete stored data in your browser. Please contact us if you cannot access a choice you believe should be available.
Removing browser cookies may also delete your saved decision, so the site can ask again. Disabling cookies in a browser may affect site features, and it may not by itself stop every request to a third-party service.
06 / Cookie information
Which individual cookies are listed?
Below is the cookie information supplied by our cookie-management system. Where records are available, they can identify a cookie or similar technology, its purpose and storage period. The contents can change as services or configuration change.

About this list: The list currently contains the four Complianz cookies shown above, which remember consent choices and are classified as Functional. It is not a complete inventory of cookies that may be set after optional services are enabled. The inventory needs to be checked against real browser activity and reviewed when services change. It may not capture every device, location or newsletter interaction. If you spot an unfamiliar item or missing information, please contact us so we can investigate.
07 / Regional rights
Different locations can mean different privacy rules.
Privacy and consent requirements vary by country and US state. Depending on where you live and the applicable rules, you may have rights to receive information, object to particular uses of data, or withdraw consent. We aim to respond to valid requests and provide relevant information about technologies used on this website.
For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google has specific consent-management requirements for publishers serving personalized advertising. Consent tools and advertising configurations must satisfy those requirements independently of what this policy says.
Visitors covered by US state privacy laws may have additional rights relating to targeted advertising or the sale or sharing of personal information, where the relevant activities and laws apply. For requests, email contact@digitalpulsebrief.com.
08 / Keeping you informed
