Digital Pulse Brief / How we support our work
Advertising & Affiliate Disclosure.
You should always know when a recommendation, link or article has a commercial connection. This advertising and affiliate disclosure explains what we label, which links may earn us money, and how we keep paid promotion separate from our own advice.

01 / At a glance
The straightforward version.
Digital Pulse Brief publishes practical technology guides, troubleshooting help and research-based product information. Advertising, sponsorships or affiliate links may be used to help support the publication. If a piece of content has a material commercial relationship, we will explain it plainly and in a place where readers can notice it.
Ads should look like ads
Advertising must be distinguishable from site navigation, troubleshooting instructions and editorial recommendations.
Paid links get a disclosure
Where a link may earn a commission, readers should see an understandable notice near that recommendation.
Our judgment stays our own
A commercial relationship is not a substitute for evidence, clear limitations or honest product comparisons.
02 / Transparency
Why we have an advertising and affiliate disclosure
We know how frustrating it is to look for a fix or a buying recommendation and discover halfway through that the answer was really a sales pitch. That’s not the experience we want to create.
We are preparing Digital Pulse Brief for possible future advertising and affiliate partnerships. This page explains the standards we intend to follow; it does not mean Google AdSense is approved or that an affiliate program is currently active. If a paid relationship applies to an article, readers should be told on that article—not sent here to work it out.
03 / Advertising
How display advertising may work
We may display advertisements served directly or through advertising partners, including Google AdSense if and when that service is enabled on the website. Ads may help pay for the work involved in researching, preparing and maintaining free guides.
Advertisements are not the same as recommendations from our editors. We aim to keep ad placements clearly separate from article text and site controls. An ad should not imitate a download button, a menu item or a step in a troubleshooting guide. We also will not ask readers to click ads to support the website. See the Google AdSense ad placement policies for these standards.
The appearance of an advertisement does not mean Digital Pulse Brief has tested, approved or endorsed the advertiser, its claims or its products. The advertisers and their services remain responsible for the products and offers they promote.
04 / Affiliate relationships
What happens if you use an affiliate link?
Some future buying guides, software comparisons or product recommendations may contain affiliate links. These are links that can earn Digital Pulse Brief a commission or other compensation if a reader makes a qualifying purchase or takes a qualifying action after following the link.
Not every external link is an affiliate link. Many simply lead to official support documentation, manufacturers’ websites or other sources that help explain an issue.
Where a page contains commission-earning links, we will place a clear disclosure within that page, close to the relevant links or recommendations. We do not expect readers to find this standalone policy page before they can understand a commercial relationship. When commercial links are published, we also aim to identify them technically using rel="sponsored" as described in Google Search Central’s link guidance.
Affiliate disclosure: This article contains affiliate links. If you make a qualifying purchase through one of those links, Digital Pulse Brief earns a commission.
Any commission arrangements are between the publication and the relevant partner. Product prices, taxes, availability, delivery and returns are controlled by the seller; check the total amount and terms at checkout.
05 / Paid partnerships
How would we identify sponsored content?
If a company pays for an article, placement or other promotional collaboration, we will identify the material relationship with an obvious label such as “Advertisement” or “Ad” in a prominent position. When an entire article is promotional, its commercial nature should be apparent before someone opens or reads it. If a product or service has been provided for review, or if another material benefit could affect how readers judge a recommendation, that relationship will also be explained where relevant.
Sponsored content should not be made to look like an ordinary independent guide without disclosure. We do not offer advertisers the right to purchase an undisclosed positive verdict, invented test results or a guaranteed editorial recommendation.
06 / Editorial standards
How we approach recommendations and product testing
Our starting point is whether information helps someone solve a technology problem or make a better-informed decision—not whether a merchant offers a commission. Where there is a commercial relationship, we still aim to explain meaningful drawbacks, trade-offs, compatibility limits and alternatives.
We distinguish hands-on observations from research based on public specifications, documentation or other sources. A product should never be described as personally tested unless that testing actually took place. Links and sponsorships must not alter that distinction.

07 / External websites
What about prices, offers and outside links?
A price or offer mentioned in an article can change after publication, and a software plan available in one country may differ in another. Please check the current price, compatibility, renewal terms, warranty and refund conditions with the seller before paying.
When you follow a link to a retailer, app store, manufacturer or advertiser, you leave our website. That destination has its own terms, security practices and privacy policy. For the rules governing this website, see our Terms of Use. We cannot guarantee the ongoing accuracy or availability of third-party pages, products or promotions.
08 / Data and cookies
Advertising, cookies and your privacy
If advertising services are active, advertising partners may use cookies, IP addresses or other identifiers to serve ads, measure performance or support fraud prevention, subject to applicable requirements and user choices. Personalized advertising may depend on consent and the settings available to the user.
The more detailed information about data collection, advertising technologies, third parties and your choices belongs in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. Where required, relevant consent choices are presented separately. This commercial disclosure page does not replace those notices or any consent mechanism.
For Google’s own description of advertising cookies and user controls, you can read How AdSense uses cookies and visit Google My Ad Center.
09 / Get in touch
Questions about a link or a commercial relationship?
If you’re unsure why something is recommended, whether a link is commercial, or whether an article needs a clearer disclosure, please tell us which page you’re looking at and what concerned you. We can then review the specific content rather than leave readers guessing.
Use our Contact Us page to get in touch. We will update this disclosure when our monetization practices materially change.
10 / Common questions
A few useful distinctions.
Does an affiliate link mean a product is recommended?
No. An affiliate arrangement identifies a possible commercial relationship. It does not replace the reasoning, limitations and evidence in the article.
Are all product links paid links?
No. Some links exist only so you can check an official source, download documentation or verify a specification.
Does seeing an ad mean you are being shown a personal recommendation?
No. Display advertising is separate from editorial content. Ad selection may be determined by an advertising service and the privacy settings that apply.
